I know it’s been a few days since Kanye West’s show for Adidas at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but now that industry folk like Kelly Kutrone, have come out and said what they really thought of it – I thought I would follow suit. Disclaimer Alert: I know next to nothing about fashion, for example, at a recent styling session the exchange between myself and the stylist went as follows:
Stylist: “So, what’s your style?”
Me: “I don’t really have one.”
THAT being said, I have to say that Kanye West’s fashions in the image above look like a warning of what (the best possible) fashion could be in a future dystopian world! To me, it looks like a grim (and veiled) warning of the times to come…perhaps after a global nuclear war, God forbid? Am I serious? Not totally…but I’m not totally kidding either – cut to 2:00!
And, I feel that this song provides a great backdrop to the theme of this post and a great look back at the Kanye of another era. It’s also Throwback Thursday…and, for what it’s worth, I find this tune to be very dark and depressing…which is why I rarely listen to it – even though I love it.

Now, onto more important things…like the Real Housewives of Atlanta! Oh my goodness, did you guys see this weeks episode? The girls are STILL in Puerto Rico, as guests of Demetria McKinney (how did she get right inside their click like that overnight, anyway?) and Team NeNe isn’t looking so callous now that I’ve had a close look at their dynamics. By, THEM, I mean Team Kenya which includes Cynthia Bailey, Claudia Jordan and maybe Demetria? Not sure about that one, but I am pretty sure that producer Roger Bobb done hustled Kenya to get his “lady” on the show. His name came up during the debacle at the dinner table on night one in Puerto Rico, but what was worse, and continued to get worse, was the audacity of newbie Claudia Jordan wriggling her nose right into it. What ensued was a David and Goliath esque war of the words, Nene being Goliath and Claudia (unlike David) fighting a losing battle, that wasn’t even hers to fight. She is behaving like such a loser, that I don’t even want to post her picture here and give her more attention than she deserves.Embed from Getty Images
I just feel that she is getting in over her head and sticking her nose where it has no business being, which LEADS ME to conclude that the members of Team Kenya are more like women scorned. Team Nene may seem mean and harsh, I don’t know why that is when members of Team Kenya have repeatedly poked fun at them with ugly name calling like “Beast”, “Pig”, “Side Chick” etc. etc. Team Nene is cold, I won’t deny that, but Team Kenya are like obsessed, dejected, resentful hags. Like I said in my last post, there is a real monetary divide between the two camps, and that might be what makes the eyes of Team Kenya well up. It is a sad situation to watch.Embed from Getty Images
Claudia has no clue what she is doing, which she fully knows, when duking it out with Nene. Team Nene just seems to enjoy eachothers company, and be glad that they are a part of Team Nene. Team Kenya on the other hand always have something to prove and spend most of their time feeling sad or dejected by Team Nene…because you know what they say – The Best Defence is an Offence.
