On a brighter note from my last article –  I recently came across the brand spanking new Unionville Optical which just opened up on picturesque 182 Main St. Unionville. A popular hub of family entertainment, lifestyle, shopping and fun in the sun for its’ local residents.

The spot was previously occupied by upscale franchise, Timothy’s World Coffee (and left empty for far too long), and has now been brought back to life by an even worthier successor. With a welcoming archway adorned with golden balloons and a red carpet leading up to it, not just one but all of my expectations were exceeded when I walked in.

And talk about comfort and luxury; this is not your average optical store, and felt more like a plush V.I.P. lounge for the rich and famous with warm decor and dazzling displays of the most luxurious collections of eye wear I have seen in one place. That being said, the prices are a lot more accessible and catered to meet the needs of the everyday consumer. These guys gave me the impression that they would bend over backwards just to connect with you, the customer, and ensure that you have a beautiful experience in their store.

They also skimped on nothing when celebrating the opening of their fabulous new store, providing every assortment of candy, chocolate, baked treats and savoury eats a girl (and her toddler) could wish for! They were also giving away $50 gift cards to everyone, hence my little sch-peel about accessibility, who attended and ran a draw for a free pair of your choice of designer sunglasses (see image below)!

Lucky revellers got their choice of designer shades to enter to win for

They were nice enough to let me enter the draw, even though I didn’t win anything, but got a lovely consolation prize on my way out – courtesy of their hospitality and appreciation.

But that was not what drew me further into the store (the food tables were in the back), but the fact that I was excited to see the spot, left vacant by our beloved Timothy’s, brought back to life. And that it was, as the super friendly and unassuming staff were nothing short of welcoming, and to one of the most luxurious displays of eye wear I have seen in this neck of the woods. That being said, I shouldn’t localise their offerings in such a way as they could hold up on the streets of Paris if they wanted to.  I’ve been. I know.

They also offered to fix my Ralph Lauren’s for free…something getting another certain corporation to do is like pulling teeth. Very unpleasant and painful.

In any case, if you are a connoisseur of brands like Tom Ford, Burberry, Roots (Go Canada!), Versace or Ray Ban, then this is the place for you! And they also take insurance plans…I asked. Check it out:

I am certain that anyone who puts their eye wear needs (and wants) in the wonderful hands of the folks at Unionville Optical, will be treated like family. They gave me the impression that they know what they’re doing, and totally ready, when it comes to customer service.

Their newly established Instagram is also worth checking out for the latest arrivals and eye wear looks, a true representation of who they are…and well worth the follow!

Until next time,
