Mississauga is hosting the Ontario 55+ Summer Games (OSG) in Celebration Square starting August 10. NHL legend, Paul Henderson will help officiate the opening ceremonies alongside Jake Dheer who is hosting.
Over 1000 participants are expected to compete in nearly 20 different sports like cycling, pickleball, five-pin bowling, darts and bocce. The public is invited to attend the opening ceremony but if you are unable to, it will be live streamed on the city’s Facebook page.
TME Inc. is sponsoring the opening ceremony, while Metalworks, Bell Canada and Connect Hearing are sponsoring Middle Night and the games respectively.
The city also hosted the OSG in 2016 for roughly 3500 youth competitors aged 12 to 18.
