If the Feb. 5th robbery of a convenience store on a neighbourhood street isn’t indication that crime is everywhere, then I don’t know what is.
York Regional Police (YRP) are investigating two men, alleged to be wearing masks when entering Daisy Mart on Carlton and Village Parkway. The Hold-Up Unit is reporting that they were called to the store at 8:30 p.m. that was left ransacked by the two suspects.
They were wearing white surgical masks on their faces, while stealing cash and an employee’s purse. Suspect 1 was also wearing a black jacket and black pants and Suspect 2 a red jacket and black shorts with tights.
The YRP are making a point of reminding business owners to keep their video surveillance equipment up-to-date. This brings into question the condition of this store’s equipment and a stark reminder that crime can happen anywhere.
It is also much harder for police to make arrests or have success in court without quality images that help to identify suspects.
The YRP are asking anyone with information to contact the Hold-Up Unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 6631.
