There was no shortage of activities at the 42nd Annual Markham Village Music Festival, June 14-15. Whether you were checking out live bands and entertainment, craft and food vendors or carnival rides in Morgan Park (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), the festival was over before it even began.

Over 50 bands performed on stages built throughout the festival street, with headliners like Exodus: Bob Marley Tribute and Salsa Party: Salseros with Attitude tying in nicely with the Salsa Stage on Robinson St.

The family-friendly carnival at Morgan Park ran Thursday and Friday night, all day Saturday and featured a Petting Zoo.

Being in Canada’s most diverse city also meant that countries around the world were represented by children and community heritage groups, as part of Multicultural Taste of Markham. Organizers referred to it as a festival within the festival.
