A in depth update for primary care physicians 

The World Parkinson’s Program (WPP) is hosting an educational seminar in conjunction with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Ontario (CPSO). The event will run for the better part of the day, starting at 7:00 am and ending around 1:00 pm.

A wide array of diagnosis and treatment related to the Parkinson’s Disease will be covered at the seminar co-hosted by a group of Medical Doctors. Each will cover a different session, as follows: 

SESSION 1: Challenges Faced by General Practitioners in Diagnosing and Managing Parkinson’s Disease

SESSION 2: Signs and Symptoms of Early and Late Stage Parkinson’s Disease: Motor and Non-motor

SESSION 3: Mental Health and Parkinson’s Disease

SESSION 4: Differential Diagnosis, Treatment Options and the Role of Medication 

– Abdul Qayyum Rana, MD 

There will also be a nutrition break in between sessions and a Questions and Answer period at the end of the day. Attendees are expected to leave the conference with a stronger understanding of the following:

  • Gaps in diagnosis and management of PD in primary care practice 
  • Motor and non-motor symptoms of PD 
  • How to effectively manage patient complications related to PD 
  • The psychiatric complications faced by patients with PD
